Mackintosh

Mackintosh, the company synonymous with the classic raincoat, dates back to 1823 and is named for the chemist Charles Macintosh, who pioneered the development of formal waterproof fabrics. Having been supplied to the British Army during World War I and II, Mackintosh more than proved its ability to produce garments which can withstand more or less any weather conditions. Whether you call it a 'mac' or not, this is the original.
