Rochelle Canteen is one of those places that makes you feel instantly at home. Tucked away in Shoreditch, it’s beloved for its relaxed atmosphere, seasonal British menu, and dishes that are simple yet perfectly executed. From fish and meat plates to fresh, vibrant salads and perfectly cooked vegetables, everything is thoughtfully prepared. It’s no wonder it’s one of Aidan’s go-to spots—for great food, a welcoming setting, and the kind of atmosphere that makes a day off feel especially well spent.

For this first launch of collaborations, we’ve put together a look that feels distinctly Trunk. For us, it’s the epitome of smart-casual — the kind of outfit our team members wear every day in the shop. It’s smart yet relaxed, pairing formal silhouettes and accessories with soft, cosy fabrics that are perfect for the autumn–winter season.

The standout piece is the jacket, which we’re especially excited about. “Having Caruso back in the store after a long absence is very exciting,” says Aidan. “It doesn’t take more than a minute to realise just how premium and considered the product is — we see that straight away when a customer tries it on and struggles to put it back on the rail.”

This exclusive jacket brings together Caruso’s tailoring expertise with Trunk’s eye for refined practicality, using an incredibly soft flannel from Fox Brothers, woven in Somerset. A luxurious blend of wool and cashmere adds an extra touch of elegance to an already outstanding fabric. As Aidan puts it, “It’s limited to just a few pieces between our London, Zurich and online stores, so we’re not expecting it to stick around for long.”

Alongside the jacket, we’ve worked with two of our longtime Italian brands, Finamore and Bigi, who we often host in-store for custom events. “Finamore makes some of the best ready-to-wear shirts available. The hand finishing is something you rarely see these days,” says Aidan. For our shirt, we’ve chosen a premium chambray fabric and paired it with one of their formal silhouettes, the Milano, creating a versatile piece that works across a range of outfits.

The tie from Bigi is woven from supremely soft cashmere and features a subtle chevron motif. Available in both navy and grey, it adds texture and understated elegance to the look, whether worn with a blazer, layered under a sweater, or paired with the jacket from this collaboration. Its luxurious feel and refined construction make it a standout accessory for the season.

Of course, we had to include something from our in-house label. For this, we’ve brought back a favourite of Trunk’s founder, Mats. This cashmere cable-knit sweater has been made exclusively for Trunk in the historic knitwear town of Hawick, Scotland, by Scott & Charters. Renowned for crafting exceptional-quality knitwear from some of the finest cashmere, it’s a classic style that adds subtle texture and luxurious comfort to any outfit. “The cable knit is a great way of adding visual warmth and texture to an outfit without the need for colour or anything too gaudy,” says Aidan. “The softness of the cashmere is unbeatable, and it’s a real investment piece that can be worn every day through the winter.”

Finishing off this launch, we’re delighted to present our latest collaboration with Kyoto’s Ichizawa Hanpu, who we work with every season and are the only stockist alongside the brand itself. For this collaboration, we’ve brought back their classic cotton canvas tool bag, which we last stocked five or six years ago, now updated with an internal zip pocket to keep smaller belongings organised. “Having this classic back in the collection feels like welcoming an old friend,” says Aidan. “It’s as practical as it is beautifully made, and these updates make it even more versatile for everyday use. Plus, the range of colours adds a wonderful pop in the shop that always draws people in.” Available in five colours, it’s crafted by skilled artisans in Ichizawa Hanpu’s Kyoto workshop, where apprentices train for over ten years to ensure exceptional quality and durability.
