Job Description: Shop Manager

Trunk is opening a new shop in Zurich’s Seefeld in spring 2018, our first stand-alone shop outside London, and we’re currently looking for a Shop Manager to join our team.

As a leader of a client facing team you must be an ambassador for Trunk whilst having strong commercial awareness and entrepreneurial skills to launch and build the brand in the Swiss market.

Objective

Reporting to the Managing Director the Shop Manager is responsible for leading the shop in all aspects – driving sales, sell-throughs and profits, maximising margins, preventing fraud, customer care, staff management, display, administration and inventory control. This position plays a key role in managing a high performing team that builds long term profitable relationships with our customers and is fundamental to the perception of the brand and the future growth of the company. 

Key Responsibilities

Management

- Be a Trunk ambassador and provide strong presence and leadership on the sales floor, leading and motivating the team, driving excellence in service standards to exceed client expectations. Promptly deal with complaints.

- Responsible for delivering excellent operations, people management, and overall store performance. 

- Lead by example to ensure full compliance with all company policies and procedures, methodical in approach from implementation to follow through.

- Proactive in providing feedback to management regarding team, business and product performance.

- Conduct floor walks on a daily basis to maintain awareness of product and merchandising standards, ensure the team are replenishing stock and that shop is in top shape

- Support the team in developing relationships with new and existing clients to maintain & grow the store’s client book and client activity and performance

- Accountable for supporting the new starter process including delivering the induction process and providing practical coaching and training to ensure a successful integration and key milestones achieved.

- Ensure compliance of store security operations and health and safety according to legislation or company guidelines.

- Ensure everyone has been properly trained to prevent fraud

HR

- Lead, train and managing the store staff employees

- Assist with recruitment of new staff

- Manage holiday requests

- Manage staffing when someone on sales team calls in sick.

- Engage in employee performance management and offer strategy and practical solutions to improve performance. 

Analysis

- Analysing sales reports and identifying opportunities and risks, actioning to promote sales.

- Run stock reports on weekly basis, conducting spot checks to investigate negative stock and resolve discrepancies.

- Prepare weekly reporting for key stakeholders, including figures, snapshot of trade, highlights, lowlights and any suggestions to improve the business.

Visual merchandising

- Promptly deal with incoming deliveries

- Decide merchandising themes and strategies, based on seasons and trends.

- Ensure implementation is done in a positive manner, good planning and preparation. Coordinate with marketing schedule

- Keep window display and shop layout exciting through regular changes and improvements

- Meticulously control the environment to create the desired customer experience: cleanliness (inside & outside), music, smell & attention to visual detail. Window displays to depict the style and message of the company.

 Finance

- Keeping costs for alterations, couriers, visual merchandising, plants, etc at a minimum

The Ideal Candidate

 Skills Required

- Previous experience from a similar role where you have managed a team and been required to prioritise and multi-task various and competing demands

- Experience from menswear retail and preferably also made to measure shirts and tailoring

- Able to demonstrate strong communication skills (verbal and written)

- Fluent in German and English and preferably also other languages like French and Italian.

- Computer literate, including excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages (primarily Excel)

- The right to live and work in Switzerland

Reporting to the Shop Manager the Sales Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by greeting, listening and assisting customers in exceeding their needs and demonstrating an excellent knowledge of the products to achieve business goals. This position is the front line of the business and plays a key role in building long term relationships with our customers and is fundamental to the perception of the brand and growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

 Sales

- Be a Trunk ambassador and provide exceptional customer service experience by greeting, listening and assisting customers in exceeding their needs, demonstrating an excellent knowledge of the products

- Drive sales to ensure we hit business targets (sales, sell throughs and margins)

- Guarantee cross and up-selling for all product categories and all shops

- Discuss with clients and give advice on general trends in fashion world and developments in the menswear market, showing passion for menswear

- Build and strengthen relationships with customers, deal with different nationalities and personalities and put always the customers at ease

- Ensure qualitative monitoring and updating of customer information in order to retain actual customers and detect new high potential ones

- Ensure the achievement of individual and store goals, enhancing and developing the business

- Foster open and constructive communication with team members, being always collaborative and proposing effective solutions

- Contribute to manage the visual display of the products in accordance with Trunk visual standards

- Ensure the products replenishment and physical inventory of merchandise

- Manage group of assigned VIPs

- Manage M2M

- Ensure the shop always looks impeccable and welcoming (inside, outside and staff areas)

- Manage deliveries of new merchandise (involves adding to inventory, labelling, etc)

- Provide thorough after sales service to customers

- Give feedback to buyers what’s selling and not for future buying
