The Alden Cordovan Plain Toe Blucher is made from shell cordovan leather, sourced from the Horween Leather Co. tannery in Chicago. Cordovan is a rare vegetable-tanned horse hide leather prized for its exceptional durability, shine and comfort. The leather is handworked by skilled craftsmen at the tannery in a process that lasts up to six months. Alden's classic, understated plain toe blucher is a style than can be worn formally with a suit or wool flannel trousers, but will work equally well with your favourite pair of jeans. With a fully replaceable Goodyear welted leather sole, this is a pair of shoes that will likely last a lifetime if not generations, and only improve with age.
These Alden Plain Toe Bluchers are made on the Alden Barrie last, with a regular D width fitting. The Barrie last fits half a size large, so we would advise taking a half or full size down from your usual.
Alden has been in business for well over a century, now less a brand and more an American institution. Founded in 1884 by Charles H Alden in Middleborough, Massachusetts, the family-run company sets the precedent for exceptional genuine-welted American shoemaking.Read More
